Taking a pot shot at compliance

Clay target shooting is an established sport throughout New Zealand with a number of shooting clubs across the country. But a recent line of cases highlight the real risk that urban sprawl is having on existing activities, underscoring the fact that Certificates of compliance do not offer the same protection as existing use rights or a resource consent that authorises a departure from the plan.
