Young RMLA Canterbury : Call for expressions of interest for Moot Competition
Young Resource Management Law Association mooting competition – calling for expressions of interest
The yRMLA mooting competition is back this year and we are seeking expressions of interest!
If you are a junior practitioner in the Canterbury region wanting experience in writing submissions and presenting an oral argument, we encourage you to get involved. While some of the facts of the scenario will be resource management related, the moot is open to practitioners in all areas and the legal issues will be relevant to general litigators. The focus of the moot is on oral advocacy and presentation, so we encourage all junior practitioners, regardless of specialist area, to take part.
At this stage, it is proposed that a pre-moot talk will be held in July to provide information about the event and will include practical tips and dos and don’ts. Teams will then be given ample time to review the scenario and prepare a very brief outline of submissions (two pages maximum and referring to no more than five cases). Two rounds of moots will be held in August. The preliminary round will be judged by senior practitioners with a view to the two top teams competing in a final moot (on the same scenario as the preliminary round).
