Cost change for hazardous substance applications

The EPA is proposing a change to the costs associated with assessing hazardous substance applications.

Currently applicants pay, on average, just over 10 percent of what it really costs the EPA to manage an application, with the balance picked up by the taxpayer.

The EPA wants to develop a more realistic cost recovery approach that will see organisations pay a fairer share.

Submissions on a consultation paper are invited now.

Read the proposal and make a submission.

Submissions close on 21 May 2018.
