Young RMLA Wellington presents: NES and NPS 101 : POSTPONED
PLEASE NOTE: As a result of recent Covid-19 developments, we have decided to postpone the yRMLA seminar on NES and NPS 101 until further notice.
The Wellington Young RMLA invites you to a panel discussion on NESs and NPSs. Our panel of three experienced planners and lawyers will present on the basics of NESs and NPSs.
National Environmental Standards and National Policy Statements create key considerations for planners and resource management lawyers, and it is important they are well understood. Both are key higher order planning documents created by central government that create a national direction for matters of national significance. They touch on many planning matters, including urban development capacity, the coastal environment, freshwater management, air quality and plantation forestry.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn from senior policy experts, planners and lawyers about how NESs and NPSs shape New Zealand’s planning environment. You will hear about how planners and lawyers interact with NESs and NPSs on a day-to-day basis, and what is involved at a central government level with creating them. This session is aimed at practitioners with less than 5 years’ experience.
Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
