Join us for an evening with Judge Lauren Semple. Appointed to the Court in March 2023, Judge Semple has over 30 years in private practice and brings her wealth of expertise in resource management law to Wellington.

Formerly a partner in resource management teams at Anderson Lloyd and Greenwood Roche, Judge Semple specialized in various aspects of resource management, focusing on urban development and infrastructure projects. Notably, she played a key role in the post-2010/2011 earthquake rebuild of Christchurch.  Before joining the bench, Judge Semple actively contributed to alternative consenting pathways and RMA reform working groups. She was also a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on the National Planning Framework. Beyond her legal work, Judge Semple is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and has had a diverse governance career, including Crown appointments.
