Fast-track Approvals Bill introduced to Parliament

Minister Chris Bishop has introduced the Fast-track Approvals Bill in Parliament today. The Bill was read a first time and has been referred to the Environment Committee.

In short, the purpose of this bill is to provide a streamlined decision-making process to facilitate the delivery of infrastructure and development projects with significant regional or national benefits.  As foreshadowed it is a one-stop shop for approving a range of consents and approvals under a number of pieces of legislation.
