Principal Planner

Hamilton City Council is seeking an experienced Principal Planner to join its Strategy, Growth and Planning Group.

This is a senior opportunity for a planning professional who wants to help shape the future of Hamilton Kirikiriroa through sustainable growth, high-quality development outcomes, and robust planning leadership. The role involves providing expert advice on complex resource consent applications, District Plan and Resource Management Act matters, Environment Court processes, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring within a high-performing planning team.

This full-time role would suit a senior planner with strong technical expertise, sound judgement, collaborative leadership skills, and significant New Zealand planning and resource management experience.
