RMLA Conference 2026.

Registrations are now open for the 2026 RMLA Conference, True North | Te Pae Tawhiti, Whāia Kia Tata, taking place in Te Pēwhairangi | Bay of Islands from 9–11 September 2026.

True North brings the resource management community together in the stunning setting of Te Pēwhairangi Bay of Islands to explore the future direction of New Zealand’s evolving legal, policy and consenting landscape. Reflecting both location and purpose, the theme considers how we maintain clarity, direction and sound decision-making amid ongoing change.

Across the conference, delegates will hear from keynote and invited speakers, take part in specialist workshops, engage with panel discussions, reconnect with colleagues, and explore the region through a diverse range of fieldshops.

Programme highlights include:

  • a keynote presentation from Dr Ben Hamer, Global Future of Work Expert, Top 20 Global Futurist

  • a Minister’s address from Hon Chris Bishop, Minister responsible for RMA Reform

  • Environment Court insights from Judge Lauren Semple. practical workshops, including the annual Case Law Update
