Speaker Profiles

Dr Marie Doole is the Director of Mātaki Environmental and the original architect of the compliance regime in the Natural and Built Environment Act 2023. Resource management reform sees these proposals largely return in the Planning and Natural Environment Bills. Marie has had a long history of working in resource management in central and local government, academia and the NGO sector, including frontline enforcement, strategy and policy, legislation design, and system evaluation.
