PCE letter to Minister Watts on proposed amendments to the Climate Change Response Act 2002

The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment has written to the Minister of Climate Change expressing concern with passing amendments to the Climate Change Response Act under urgency.

He advises against directly or indirectly undermining the long-established purpose of the Act to support international climate change agreements. “Retaining confidence in hard-won domestic legislation should be the guiding priority.”
