PCE submission on the Clean Vehicle Standard Review

The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment was given the opportunity to comment on the review of the Clean Vehicle Standard.

In the Commissioners view, the CVS is functioning as expected given the repeal of the Clean Car Discount (CCD), which was originally designed to work alongside the CVS by stimulating demand for low‑emissions vehicles.

It is too early to remove the CVS entirely given there are several forthcoming factors that will boost the demand for low-emissions vehicles.
