The Conservation Amendment Bill - What it Means for Use, Development and Concessions

The Conservation Amendment Bill, introduced to Parliament in May 2026, proposes some of the most far-reaching changes to the Conservation Act 1987 in decades.

Among them is a fundamental shift to the functions of the Department of Conservation: for the first time, the Department would be directed to recognise the economic opportunities that arise from the use and development of land and other natural and historic resources managed by the Department, and to enable this use and development to the greatest extent practicable.

Join us for a one-hour webinar unpacking what these reforms mean in practice — for concessionaires, developers, advisers, and anyone with an interest in how the conservation estate is managed.
