Changes to the Auckland Council’s planning rules

Auckland Council advises that its s104(1A) methodology was published in the Auckland Design Manual on 9 October 2026.

The methodology relates to amendments to Auckland Unitary Plan and Hauraki Gulf Islands District Plan provisions under s 76A. Due to the volume of provisions involved, Council intends to undertake this work in two tranches.

Feedback on the methodology is open until 16 October 2026. Council advises that feedback will be acknowledged and considered, although it will not be able to enter into individual correspondence because of the timeframe.
