RMA national direction reforms complete

The overhaul of the national direction of the Resource Management Act includes changes to the building and upgrading of New Zealand’s electricity and telecommunications networks.

The new National Environmental Standards for Electricity Network Activities (NES-ENA) significantly expand the existing national rules for electricity infrastructure.

The changes to the National Environmental Standards for Telecommunication Facilities (NES-TF) address how technology has moved faster than the planning rules.
