Expressions of interest invited: Sponsor the 2026 RMLA Conference

RMLA is now inviting expressions of interest from members and organisations interested in sponsoring the 2026 RMLA Conference.

The 2026 conference, True North / Te pae tawhiti, whāia kia tata, will be held in Te Pēwhairangi Bay of Islands from 10–11 September 2026.

The theme reflects both place and purpose. In a period of significant change for resource management in Aotearoa New Zealand, the conference will provide an important opportunity for practitioners, decision-makers and leaders to consider what lies ahead and how the sector can navigate the next chapter with clarity, purpose and direction.

New legislation expected in mid-2026 will raise fundamental questions about how we plan for the places and environments that shape our communities.

Against the backdrop of Te Tai Tokerau, the conference will explore the evolving legal, policy and consenting landscape, and the principles that should guide resource management practice into the future.

Why sponsor?

The RMLA Conference is the Association’s premier networking event and attracts a highly engaged, multidisciplinary audience from across the resource management sector.

For sponsors, the conference provides a valuable platform to connect with a professional community that helps shape the implementation of environmental law and policy across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Sponsorship offers opportunities to:

  • build relationships with RMLA members, stakeholders and sector leaders

  • increase visibility across RMLA’s conference, digital and print channels

  • position your organisation alongside important national conversations about resource management reform

  • connect with decision-makers, advisers and practitioners from across legal, planning, consulting, government, iwi, academic and technical professions

  • support RMLA’s role in promoting best practice in environmental law and policy

Sponsorship opportunities

A range of sponsorship opportunities is available, including Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and bespoke options.

Opportunities include sponsorship of the keynote speaker, the RMLA Conference and Annual Awards Dinner, the Taste of the Bay of Islands function, the welcome reception, panel sessions, the conference app, livestream, fieldshops, networking breaks and other branded conference elements.
